Moving from StoryGraph to Reedr.

StoryGraph is where most readers go when they leave Goodreads, and it does a great deal well: moods, pacing, content warnings, a reading challenge. If what you want next is a shelf you would actually show someone, Reedr reads StoryGraph's export directly.

Get your library out

On the StoryGraph website, open your profile menu and choose Manage account. Under Manage your data, choose Export StoryGraph library. A CSV file arrives with your books, ratings, read dates, review text, tags, moods and pace.

Bring it into Reedr

Sign in, open Settings, then Import, and drop the file in. Reedr has a parser written for StoryGraph's own column layout, so ratings down to the quarter star, read dates and tags come across as they were. Rows it cannot match with confidence are set aside for you rather than guessed.

What is different here

• The shelf is the product: spines, jackets, a book on the easel, arranged the way you would arrange a real wall. There is a 3D view for when you want to walk along it.
• Read-alongs with a spoiler lock enforced by the database. Nobody's note about page 200 is visible to you until you have reached page 200.
• A camera that reads a bookshelf. Photograph your wall and Reedr shelves every spine it can make out.
• Every passage you keep is typeset into a quote card, yours to share or keep.
